2013 was a fantastic year for Park Acoutics. Although the Cape Town shows didn’t start off as planned, the shows in Pretoria were always sold out by at least 12 pm and the vibe every last Sunday in Pretoria at the Voortrekker Monument was monumental as such.
The last Park Acoustics for 2013 also was MASSIVE with 23 artists all around, a bar area that just didn’t stop, with music and dancing until much later than usual on the evening of 24 November.
There were different sounds coming from everywhere, enough food and drinks for everyone, and most importantly – it felt like the biggest and best catch-up session with many a friendly PTA & JHB music lover (it also killed the Seether show that was happening on the same day in Jozi). Mango Groove was even bigger than at Oppikoppi, and even Claire Johnston had this to say after their wonderful show:
“An amazing setting and an even more incredible crowd – we were all overwhelmed by the response we got at the Park Acoustic gig over the weekend at the foot of the historic Voortrekker Monument. Thanks to all you energetic and inspiring South Africans for a memorable day. You made us proud.”
2014 is going to be bigger, better and even MORE FUN, if that is possible (believe me, I think it is!)
